Second game of the night - playing the same list, this time against a Legion army with a beautiful, beautiful Archangel at the center.

Again, I don't really know what to expect. Those dragons are scaring the hell out of me.

Amir decided to get artsy - who can blame him?

Legion first turn - rumbling up the center.

Khador turn 1 - skewing left in front of my flag. Iron Fangs hunkering down in shield wall. 

Legion moved up into the zone. What isn't obvious here is the strikes that the warbeasts put on Yuri (gone) and the Spriggan (hot dice meant no cortex on 1 hit). Several Iron Fangs were also picked off.

My turn 2, and I decided that, to have a chance, the big guy had to die. I took a big breath, feated, and charged in......

.....success! Turns out feated, charging Pikemen hit really, really hard. I actually overdid it, and one Pikeman (and the Konvik) ended up without a target. 

A lot more had happened here, but the in-and-out attacks of the Legion warbeasts means the photos don't tell the whole story. Decimator is dead, Spriggan charged in (with Butcher's spell), but without focus couldn't do a huge amount of damage. The Spawning Vessel was starting to spew out shredders as things dies around it.

 Around this time, Amir clocked out, so I guess it was a (rather unsatisfying) win. We continued to play it out.

At this point, I was getting ground into the dirt.

Eventually a charge on Butcher finished it.

This was a fun game against a beautiful army. It is the first time I've experienced getting off a solid charge with the Pikemen, and wow, was it fun! I do wonder whether I game the Archangel far too much credit, because the other warbeasts (including the spawned Shredders) made mince meat out of me once they started striking in and out.
